0SCCS has adopted the final opinion on salicylic acid in cosmetics. It concluded that salicylic acid is safe in cosmetics, and its concentration is not more than 0.5%, but it is not suitable for spray and oral products, except lipstick. It is also considered that salicylic acid is safe for washing and other cosmetics with concentrations not exceeding 3% and 2% respectively. In some products, such as body milk, eye cream, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, salicylic acid is only used as a preservative and meets a certain concentration limit. It is safe.
